Job summary

Hunter Douglas is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement intermediate automation solutions across North America plants. You will work with Operations, Engineering, and IT to identify opportunities, define requirements, and integrate equipment into new processes.

The role requires PLC/DCS/MES/SCADA experience, hands-on testing, and the ability to train plant personnel in automation technologies. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 1+ yrs of work experience in a manufacturing environment as a controls engineer or equivalent.
• Experience with PLCs, DCS, MES and SCADA systems is expected.
• Familiarity with safety systems and electrical panels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design intermediate level control systems and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT to execute automation projects.
• Develop and validate FAT/SAT checklists and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Train plant personnel on deployed automation technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in automation and control systems.
