Job summary
ScottsMiracle-Gro is seeking an Automation Engineering Manager to lead the Automation and Controls agenda across our manufacturing sites. Remote anywhere in North America, with travel up to 50% during peak times, you will set standards, develop strategies, and drive high-visibility automation initiatives.
You will manage a small team, partner with OT/IT, and coordinate contractors to implement robust automation solutions that improve production, safety and quality while aligning with corporate
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field required or equivalent experience.
- Strong automation concepts in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with industrial robotics, preferably Fanuc.
- Deep expertise in PLC/HMI/SCADA and industrial networks.
Responsibilities
- Walk the floor at Scotts' manufacturing sites to identify automation opportunities and build a business case.
- Develop the automation strategy and lead implementation across Scotts.
- Lead multiple automation projects and the broader roadmap for automation.
- Communicate the automation vision to stakeholders and maintain an aligned roadmap.
- Identify and advocate for automation opportunities with solid business cases.
- Manage projects from business case through startup, coordinating contractors and internal resources.
