Job summary

Ascent Geomatics is seeking a CAD Technician / AutoCAD Drafter to support oil and gas and energy infrastructure projects. You will draft exhibits, drawings, and datasets using AutoCAD to aid planning, design, and permitting while collaborating with surveying, GIS, and engineering teams.

The role is fully remote within a collaborative team; occasional evenings or weekends may be needed to meet deadlines, with Mountain Time alignment for coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Proficient with AutoCAD; Civil 3D a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of oil and gas rules, regulations, equipment, and nomenclature.

Responsibilities

• Draft and QA/QC permitting and design exhibits using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and edit survey drawings with AutoCAD/Civil 3D when applicable.
• Annotate bearing, distance, and coordinate data.
• Work within the PLSS to depict land boundaries and survey elements.
• Apply consistent labeling, linework, and drawing clarity across deliverables.
