Qualifications

• Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of personal and commercial auto policies, coverage, principles, and laws.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; professional certification preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex or technically difficult general liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure.
• Assesses liability and resolves claims within evaluation.
• Negotiates settlements within designated authority.
• Calculates and assigns reserves to claims; manages reserve adequacy over the life of the claim.
• Calculates and pays benefits due; approves timely claim payments and adjustments.
• Prepares necessary state filings within statutory limits.
• Manages the litigation process and coordinates vendor referrals for investigation or litigation management.
• Reports claims to the excess carrier and maintains professional client relationships.
