Job summary

BayCare Health System in Florida is seeking a Central Authorization Specialist II for a full-time remote role after a brief onsite training in Clearwater. The position requires verifying health insurance information and obtaining authorizations for inpatient, observation, and elective services.

You will collaborate with clinical teams, patients, and payer networks, using Soarian or GE systems to document and track authorizations.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Insurance Verification and Authorization Retrieval or Referrals.
• 1 year of Health Insurance Website experience (Preferred).
• 1 year of Healthcare Business Office and/or Managed Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify health insurance information and obtain authorizations, pre-certifications, and/or referrals for inpatient, observation and scheduled outpatient services.
• Assist patients, clinical teams, physicians, and staff with information and processes for timely authorizations.
• Utilize payer websites and systems to validate coverage and document processing approvals.
• Maintain proper documentation in Soarian or GE systems and collaborate with Managed Care on rules and contracts.
