Job summary

FM Talent Source is seeking an Audit Support Specialist to support CCDF audits within the OCC/OAD at DHS. The role focuses on coordinating audits, tracking findings, and ensuring program integrity for CCDF compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 5 years of audit or grants experience, strong analytical and written communication skills, and the ability to work across divisions in a remote or distributed environment. This is a full-time Washington, DC position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Auditing, or a closely related field.
• Five (5) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Audit support or audit coordination at the federal or state level, Federal grants management or oversight, Financial compliance, monitoring, or accountability, Government program analysis or program integrity.
• Knowledge of/experience working with the CCDF/OHS or a federal grant program is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing, analyzing, or supporting Single Audits and audit‑related documentation under federal funding requirements.
• Experience supporting compliance with federal laws, policies, regulations, and grant requirements, including tracking findings, recommendations, and corrective action plans.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, briefing materials, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal divisions and external partners in a remote or distributed work environment.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact for CCDF audits, coordinating with OCC staff and other entities to review and track audits and data reports.
• Reviews audits in a timely manner and tracks actions and recommendations from various sources.
• Supports evaluation of grantee compliance with CCDF requirements and program effectiveness.
• Assists in developing responses for OIG/GAO inquiries to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Tracks and analyzes information from CCDF audits, state plans, and related reports to identify trends and gaps.
• Supports oversight to ensure compliance with federal laws, policies, and regulations.
• Prepares position papers, briefing documents, and data sheets on CCDF programs.
• Identifies alternatives and makes recommendations for effective child care programs.
• Prepares and delivers oral briefings on CCDF audit issues as needed.
• Coordinates cross-functional tasks to support OCC initiatives.
