Job summary

All American Hearing in Louisiana seeks an Audiology Extern to complete university/ASHA requirements and gain hands-on experience in diagnostic testing, fittings, counseling, and aural rehabilitation. The Extern will work under a Preceptor and may assess tinnitus and balance disorders, with remote services via TeleHear when possible.

Responsibilities include patient testing, fitting premium hearing instruments, and patient education while adhering to state laws and clinical protocols.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment and good standing in accredited Audiology graduate program; eligible for Externship year.
• Obtain Audiology and Dispensing Temporary Licensure in state of employment.
• Minimum one year of clinical practice experience.
• Familiarity with audiology software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audiology diagnostics including pure tone and speech audiometry, tympanometry, and vestibular evaluations.
• Conduct fitting of hearing aids and accessories and provide patient counseling.
• Review and cosign SOAP notes with Preceptor; maintain patient records per policy.
• Support telehear services and coordinate with Preceptor and staff to ensure compliance with laws and guidelines.
