Job summary

Sumitomo Pharma America (SMPA) seeks an Associate Medical Director, Clinical Development – Oncology to shape and execute clinical trials from early development through regulatory submissions. This role focuses on hematologic malignancies and requires strong leadership in cross-functional settings.

You will collaborate with investigators, medical writers, and regulatory teams to deliver robust clinical plans while maintaining high ethical and scientific standards.

Qualifications

• MD or DO (or non-US equivalent) is required or strongly preferred.
• Residency completion is strongly preferred.
• Subspecialty fellowship is desirable.
• Experience in hematologic malignancies or solid tumors is preferred.
• 0 to 3 years of pharmaceutical drug development experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement clinical protocols supporting the product development plan.
• Provide clinical input to regulatory documents and publications.
• Lead clinical study teams and oversee safety and efficacy data.
• Contribute to translational strategies and investigator interactions.
• Present findings at scientific, medical, and regulatory meetings.
