Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Associate Director of Philanthropy (Prospect Research) to lead advanced prospect research and data analysis that supports fundraising initiatives.

You will partner with philanthropy staff, leadership, faculty, and volunteers to identify donor opportunities and develop research-driven strategies for portfolio optimization and fundraising success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years or more in fundraising/non‑profit, government agency, marketing, advertising, or public relations, law, healthcare or related industry experience.
• Experience leading projects and improving reporting and scoring methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver prospect research services with a focus on continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
• Assess donor capacity, interests, philanthropy, and relationships to identify and qualify prospective donors.
• Assess opportunities for additional philanthropic engagement with existing donors.
• Evaluate prospects suggested by staff, volunteers, and faculty members.
• Identify and map relationships of volunteers and highly engaged donors to uncover new prospects.
• Examine and validate wealth screening results to identify individuals with major gift potential.
• Identify potential major gift prospects using external research sources.
• Monitor news sources to identify relevant information regarding donors and prospective donors.
• Distribute timely prospect intelligence and donor information to support fundraising activities.
