Job summary

Macmillan Children's Publishing Group is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Production to lead the frontlist production team for Feiwel & Friends, Henry Holt, and Godwin Books imprints, and conversions for MCPG. This hands-on role coaches production managers while also handling a personal list of 40–45 titles annually across picture books, chapter books, novelty titles, and graphic novels.

You will liaise with Editorial, Design, Managing Editorial and Publishers; own 4-color workflows;

Qualifications

  • 15 years of book production experience with at least 10 years in Children's.
  • Highly organized and detail minded.
  • Experience in people management a plus.
  • Knowledge of Biblio and RSuite.
  • Knowledge of the Google platform.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach production team across production and manufacturing tasks.
  • Manage scheduling, prepress, estimating, printing and binding for text and components.
  • Maintain quality and coach vendors to meet high standards.
  • Ensure projects follow corporate workflows and systems (Biblio and RSuite).
  • Collaborate with editorial, design and managing editorial on product delivery.
  • Keep title progress on track with weekly status meetings.
  • Manage a medium-sized title list through production and manufacturing.
  • Negotiate with vendors and ensure conformance to contracts.
