Job summary

Ladders is seeking an Associate Counsel, PIP to join a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This remote role focuses on personal injury protection matters within an insurance defense environment, researching coverage questions and supporting litigation strategy with claims professionals. Location: Remote - US-based candidates only.

Compensation: $118,900–$186,550 annually. The ideal candidate will hold a JD, be admitted to the New York Bar, and demonstrate strong written communication skills

Qualifications

• 2–6+ years of litigation experience required.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Admission to the New York Bar required.
• Maintain good standing in licensure and CLE requirements.
• Excellent written documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel for trials, hearings, and meetings.
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Evaluate coverage, medical necessity/causation, damages, and claims values
• Prepare and manage arbitration submissions and examinations under oath
• Defend cases in trials or hearings as assigned
• Collaborate with the Claims Department on legal opinions
