American Cancer Society is seeking an Assistant Managing Editor for the Journals Program. The role is fully remote with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.

You will lead peer review, production, and editorial activities for CANCER and associated journals, collaborating with editors, publishers, and external partners to support high-quality scholarly content. The position focuses on editorial workflow, data-driven decision making, and engaging audiences through multimedia and digital

Qualifications

• Minimum degree: Bachelor's Degree.
• At least 3 years of experience with web-based peer review systems and editorial procedures for scholarly journals.
• Preferred: 1–2 years editing video with Adobe Creative Cloud for social media.

Responsibilities

• Manage peer review and editorial aspects across the journal and oversee the editorial support vendor.
• Provide production support, copyediting, and oversee manuscript data and reports.
• Lead journal user engagement efforts including multimedia content like videos and infographics.
• Provide operational and administrative support, including invoices, honoraria, and calendar management.
