Job summary

BairesDev is seeking an AS/400 Engineer to ensure stability and evolution of mission-critical applications on IBM Power Systems. You will bridge legacy reliability with modern infrastructure, optimizing performance and ensuring business continuity in a fully remote role.

Qualifications

4+ years of experience in IBM Power Systems administration and maintenance.
Proficiency in IBMi (OS/400) and RPG development.
Experience managing Power Systems hardware via HMC and PowerVM.
Hands-on experience with Fortra toolsets and PowerHA for high availability.
Strong backup and recovery knowledge on IBM Power platforms.
Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor IBM Power Systems hardware and virtual environments using HMC and PowerVM.
Develop and maintain core business logic using RPG within the IBMi (OS/400) ecosystem.
Administer high availability and disaster recovery strategies leveraging PowerHA and Fortra toolsets.
Execute system upgrades, patches, and complex backup/recovery operations to safeguard data integrity.
Analyze and resolve technical incidents across the stack to maintain high system uptime.
