Our client in the live events space has a need for a remote Art Director. This FULLY-REMOTE freelance position starts in June and will continue (30-40 hours a week) for at least 2 months. If local to Dallas, some onsite time is preferred at client's office in Addison.
The ideal Art Director will be immersed in the client's brand to design and execute a wide variety of print and digital deliverables. This role is focused on concepting, creating, and overseeing the production of perception-changing brand campaigns. It will blend strategic, conceptual thinking with hands-on execution. Additionally, the Art Director will be responsible for a range of ongoing brand work and marketing communications, both internal- and external-facing.
The ideal Art Director has an agency background in campaign development for B2B and B2C brands, a deep understanding and proven experience in campaign concept development, can concept and partner with a copywriter, and has hands-on experience building out the campaign assets across a variety of channels.
Art Director Responsibilities
- Develop dynamic concepts across a range of media that are aligned with the company's brand strategy
- Partner with a content writer to develop concepts and work
- Present creative work clearly and compellingly
- Bring concepts to life across channels with hands-on design
- Delegate and collaborate with designers
- Guide and maintain the integrity of deliverables throughout the campaign lifecycle
- Engage teams and projects aligned with clear and actionable visual direction
- Adopt and embrace existing brand guidelines with the ability to still push the limit on occasion
- Additional ownership of concepting and guiding the execution of visual solutions, including work in digital and print ads, content pieces, signage, wall graphics, motion graphics, templates, and internal/external presentations
- Provide guidance for one Senior Graphic Designer, as well as occasional contract creatives and vendors
- Work collaboratively and productively with internal colleagues across a range of business units and functions, as well as with external partners, as needed
Art Director Qualifications
- Portfolio showcasing work across print and digital, demonstrating both self-produced and directed graphic design and production skills, particularly in multichannel campaign work.
- Agency experience with multiple clients and campaigns
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Figma
- Familiarity with motion graphics and video editing software (Premiere Pro)
- Experience using XD and After Effects is a plus
- Ability to design in PowerPoint, with functional ability in Word and Excel
- Proficiency in both conceptual and production design
- Impeccable taste and an eye for branded design, layout, and typography
- Familiarity with large-scale live events is ideal
