Job summary

Ardent is seeking an ArcGIS/Geospatial Specialist to support enterprise geospatial systems, platform operations, and modernization initiatives in a federal government environment. The role focuses on administering ArcGIS Enterprise environments, upgrades, automation of workflows, and ensuring reliability across GIS services, with collaboration across infrastructure and development teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's in GIS or related field and 5+ years of GIS admin experience, including

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, IT, Geography or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional GIS systems administration or closely related roles.
Experience administering Esri ArcGIS Enterprise environments and ArcGIS Server.
Experience configuring, publishing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise GIS services.

Responsibilities

Administer, configure, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot ArcGIS Enterprise environments and datasets.
Automate ArcGIS service publication and data refresh workflows across environments.
Plan, test, and document ArcGIS Enterprise upgrades including rollback planning.
Deploy and maintain geospatial administration tools like GeoJobe Admin Tools and CleanMyOrg.
Perform server load testing, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Support service-health dashboards and integration with observability tools.
Collaborate on modernization planning for ArcGIS on AWS/EKS and cloud infra.
Document performance metrics and change-management records.
Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, development, and geospatial teams for reliability.
