Job summary

Lumen is seeking a highly technical Applied AI Scientist to design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI-powered solutions for business challenges. In this role, you will partner with business, product, engineering, and technology teams to identify opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, and deliver production-ready AI capabilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML or data science.
• Experience building and deploying production AI/ML solutions.
• Strong knowledge of ML, statistics, and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions from PoC to production.
• Partner with business and product teams to define use cases and measure impact.
• Build solutions using ML, generative AI, RAG, NLP, and predictive analytics.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure quality, accuracy, and performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering to operationalize AI via MLOps and LLMOps.
• Contribute reusable code, models, and tooling to accelerate AI adoption.
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and propose innovative approaches.
• Share knowledge and best practices across the team.
