Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a security-focused leader to own the application security posture end-to-end. This is the first dedicated security hire, with autonomy to shape the function as we scale from 70 to 140+ engineers.

You will work hands-on in code, tackle high-leverage problems at the intersection of security and distributed systems, and influence product teams through threat modeling and secure design reviews across multi-tenant, multi-region deployments.

Qualifications

• Early security hire (first 1-3) at a SaaS or data infrastructure company.
• Securing multi-tenant platforms: tenant isolation, authorization models, etc
• Cloud security on systems that span more than one cloud and operate against customer-owned accounts
• Data infrastructure security from design or major redesigns
• Privacy-adjacent security (PII handling, data residency, GDPR/CCPA controls)

Responsibilities

• Own the company's application security posture end-to-end.
• Lead security architecture and threat modeling for multi-tenant distributed systems.
• Improve rate limiting, abuse detection, and access control for internet-facing APIs.
• Support multi-region and multi-cloud deployments with security best practices.
• Ship production fixes and drive security improvements across engineering teams.
