Job summary

Bugcrowd Inc. is seeking an Application Security Engineer to curate and manage vulnerability submissions for major bug bounty programs. You will validate data for accuracy and severity, and communicate with clients and researchers as needed.

Ideal candidates have strong OWASP knowledge, experience with Burp Suite and proxies, and comfort coding tooling. This role is fully remote and offers exposure to top researchers and diverse testing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or security consulting experience.
• Published and demonstrated passion for security assessment research.
• High proficiency with Burp Suite and interception proxies; familiarity with Nmap, SQLMap, Kali Linux.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to the team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Triages and validates incoming vulnerability submissions for Bugcrowd managed programs.
• Communicates with Bugcrowd clients or researchers when additional information is required.
• Handles incident response by escalating and communicating highest severity bugs.
• Applies knowledge of OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities and develops tooling as needed.
