Allied Benefit Systems is hiring an Appeals Specialist for a fully remote role operating from Chicago, IL. The position focuses on organizing and completing claim appeals within the Appeal Department, reviewing documentation, and issuing appeal responses while coordinating with carriers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in medical/dental/vision claims billing, strong Excel/Word skills, and effective written communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience billing or handling medical, dental and vision claims.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.
• Experience with or ability to learn Microsoft Access.
• Strong written and verbal communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review appeal and supporting documentation and determine validity.
• Compose appeal response letters when necessary.
• Communicate with other departments and clients as needed.
• Document appeal status and outcomes in the QicLink system/database.
• Prioritize referrals to complete tasks timely.
