Job summary

Whirlpool is seeking an experienced Google Apigee Architect for a fully remote contract engagement. You will own API strategy, architecture, and governance for enterprise integration initiatives, interacting with client stakeholders and delivery teams.

Architecting and implementing API management on Apigee across environments, you will lead standards, security, and modernization efforts while mentoring delivery teams and shaping best practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in API architecture and governance.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Google Apigee (X, Hybrid or Edge).
• Experience delivering enterprise integrations and API programs.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement API management solutions on Google Apigee.
• Define API standards, governance frameworks, and enterprise best practices.
• Develop API proxies, shared flows, and custom policies for traffic management, security, mediation, and caching.
• Implement API security: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWT, API key validation, mTLS, threat protection.
• Migrate legacy integrations to Apigee and modernize the API landscape.
• Build CI/CD pipelines for API deployments (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven, Terraform/Apigee CLI).
• Establish monitoring, analytics, and alerting using Apigee Analytics and Google Cloud Monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to integration development.
