Job summary

NWN is seeking an API Integration Engineer to design, develop, and manage integrations across enterprise systems within the Experience Management Platform. You will work with product management, development, IT, and data analytics teams to deliver scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes API design, performance optimization, documentation, and security best practices, with remote work options and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining API integrations.
• Translating business needs into technical API specifications.
• Identifying and resolving API performance issues and data inconsistencies.
• Creating and maintaining API documentation, workflows, and usage guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between internal systems, third-party platforms, and client applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to build custom APIs that meet business requirements.
• Implement and optimize API endpoints for performance, scalability, and security.
• Gather and analyze integration requirements and translate them into technical specs.
• Test APIs and integration solutions for reliability and functionality.
• Resolve issues related to API performance, data inconsistencies, or integration failures.
• Create detailed documentation for APIs and workflows.
• Provide usage guidelines for developers and stakeholders.
• Implement API security best practices (OAuth, API keys).
• Ensure GDPR/HIPAA compliance where applicable.
• Monitor API performance and optimize usage.
