Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Apache Iceberg to design and implement table formats on large-scale data lakes, enabling ACID transactions and efficient analytics.

You will drive schema and partition evolution, optimize multi-engine access with Spark and Trino, and build reliable data ingestion and compaction workflows while collaborating with our globally distributed teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in software or data engineering.
• Proven experience implementing Apache Iceberg on data lakes.
• Experience with schema and partition evolution in distributed environments.
• Hands-on with Spark and Trino for data processing.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Apache Iceberg table formats to provide ACID transactions on large-scale data lakes.
• Enable and manage schema and partition evolution to adapt data structures without downtime.
• Optimize multi-engine access across Spark, Trino, and other query engines.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion and compaction processes for performance and storage efficiency.
• Collaborate with data teams to define storage standards and metadata management strategies.
