Job summary

The Bryn Mawr Online School is seeking a remote faculty member to teach AP Microeconomics in our high school. The ideal candidate will have a degree in a related discipline, secondary school teaching experience, and a genuine desire to teach and learn from young people.

Candidates should have an interest in teaching highly motivated girls in a community that values not only intellectual pursuits but also building strong relationships between students and teachers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience; online teaching experience preferred.
• Credentials in the subject area(s) to be taught preferred.
• High School teaching experience preferred.
• Experience developing lesson plans for high school students.
• Knowledge of proven strategies for student success in the subject area.
• Comfort using a variety of pedagogical strategies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the technology necessary to succeed in an online learning environment.
• Desire and ability to work with Upper School students of diverse backgrounds and ability levels in pursuit of their educational goals.
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines; manage groups of students in a classroom environment; and communicate effectively with students, parents, school administrators, and other staff, including on topics that may be sensitive.
• Commitment to using conversation norms and constructive engagement at all times with students, caregivers, and colleagues, and to speaking positively about the school and community members in all contexts

Responsibilities
