Job summary

Trilogy Innovations, Inc. is seeking an Ansible Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automation pipelines for a federal Red Hat Enterprise Linux modernization program.

The role focuses on AAP workflows, STIG/SCAP remediation, and CI/CD integration from Day 1 through contract closeout. You will own automation strategy, playbooks, and roles while coordinating with security and operations teams to ensure compliance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent professional experience accepted.
• 10+ years IT experience; 5+ years Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform expertise in federal environments.
• RHCE or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation certification.
• Experience automating STIG and OpenSCAP compliance enforcement.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent).
• Must hold an active DoD/DoW Secret clearance or higher, or an active DOE Q or L clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Badge.
• Must successfully complete NBIS eApp background investigation.
• Employment contingent upon meeting all required DOE security, suitability, and site-access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform workflows, playbooks, roles, and job templates for provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated security compliance solutions aligned with DISA STIGs and CIS Benchmarks.
• Integrate automation with enterprise platforms like Red Hat Satellite, Terraform IaC, identity management systems, and monitoring tools.
• Build scalable automation frameworks to improve efficiency, consistency, and compliance across large Linux environments.
• Manage automation content in version-controlled repositories with code reviews, testing, and change control.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and infrastructure teams to identify automation opportunities and best practices.
• Support continuous improvement by enhancing workflows, reducing manual effort, and increasing reliability and security.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including runbooks and SOPs.
• Mentor team members and enable operation teams to support automation solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues and optimize deployed capabilities.
