Job summary

Element 84 seeks an AI Systems Engineer to build multi-agent workflows that turn natural language mission requirements into validated spacecraft designs, integrating LLMs with CAD/FEA/CAM tools and AWS-based infrastructure.

You will implement physics-based guardrails, oversee human-in-the-loop validation, and ensure manufacturability and safety of flight hardware while delivering scalable, auditable AI pipelines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a software engineer in aerospace, defense, space, or similar manufacturing sectors.
• Experience scripting APIs for CAD/CAE tools (Python APIs for Fusion 360, ANSYS, NASTRAN or SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with aerospace-grade materials and NASA/aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and build multi-agent systems powering NASA's Text-to-Spaceship initiative with autonomous workflows.
• Architect agent orchestration across specialized domains (design, analysis, harnessing, reporting).
• Create NL-to-Engineering outputs (text to JSON) and integrate with CAD/FEA/CAM tools via MCP or APIs.
• Deploy scalable AI workloads on cloud infrastructure (AWS) with security best practices.
