Job summary

Affirm is searching for an experienced engineer to join their People Tech & Analytics team. In this role, you will build, deploy, and maintain AI-powered systems that improve employee interaction with People functions across 2000+ staff members. You'll work closely with various stakeholders to convert business needs into scalable production systems.

The ideal candidate has a robust foundation in software engineering, full lifecycle ownership experience, and strong collaborative skills to translate between technical and business requirements. This position is remote-first, allowing flexibility in work location.

Qualifications

• Built, deployed, and maintained production applications with a software engineering background.
• Understanding of how software systems fit together: databases, APIs, authentication.
• Experience creating systems or tools from scratch in dynamic environments.
• Ability to translate technical constraints into business language.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship AI agents, APIs, and applications on affirm's internal platform.
• Integrate messy business requirements into production systems for People Operations.
• Design reliability infrastructure for multi-model LLM services.
• Contribute to the team's shared Python codebase and Snowflake infrastructure.
• Diagnose and fix production issues.
