Job summary

Piper Companies seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to architect and implement AI-powered solutions, with a strong focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). You will work directly with customers to design scalable data connectivity and enterprise‑scale integrations.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software or ML engineering, hands-on AI experience, API and database expertise, and proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript, plus excellent customer-facing communication in fast-paced teams.

Qualifications

• /eight+ years in software or ML engineering or related field/
• /hands-on AI experience including RAG/
• /data connectivity, APIs, databases, integration technologies/
• /experience with AI/LLM platforms and development frameworks/
• /proficiency in Python, Java, or TypeScript/
• /strong customer-facing communication translating tech to business outcomes/
• /experience in fast-paced, collaborative environments/

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with customers to understand business challenges and design AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable value.
• Implement and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to improve the accuracy and relevance of AI applications.
• Design and develop data connectivity solutions that integrate structured and unstructured enterprise data sources into AI platforms.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and adoption of AI solutions.
• Build proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready implementations tailored to customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations for performance, scalability, and security improvements.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the solution lifecycle.
