Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to drive AI-powered solutions for a cutting-edge technology organization. You will architect, implement, and optimize AI applications with a strong focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and enterprise-scale integrations.

This role requires partnering with customers, building prototypes, and ensuring successful deployment while advising on performance, security, and scalability. Remote work flexibility is supported.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, machine learning engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing AI applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Strong understanding of enterprise data connectivity, APIs, databases, and integration technologies.
• Experience working with modern AI/LLM platforms and related development frameworks.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or TypeScript.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.
• Experience working in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations for performance, scalability, and security improvements.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the solution lifecycle.

Compensation for the Forward Deployed Engineer includes:

• Salary: $225,000 - $230,000/Annually
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
• Must be eligible to obtain a secret clearance
• Remote work flexibility
