Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with clients and rapidly design, build, and deploy AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. You will work with stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams in a trusted advisory capacity.

You will lead discovery sessions, design scalable architectures, and own delivery across client initiatives, including Generative AI and RAG solutions, with a focus on production readiness and adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, customer-facing engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong programming expertise in one or more languages such as Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience developing cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including APIs, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, stakeholder management, and client-facing consulting engagements.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and driving projects from concept through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with client stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and technical requirements while serving as a trusted technical advisor.
• Lead discovery workshops, technical assessments, and solution envisioning sessions to translate business needs into scalable solution architectures and implementation roadmaps.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations that accelerate time-to-value.
• Build and implement Generative AI, Agentic AI, machine learning, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, including AI copilots, intelligent workflows, and autonomous agents.
• Own technical delivery across client-facing initiatives, driving rapid iteration, production readiness, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.
