Shift Technology's US Insurance Data Science team is hiring a senior data scientist to build production-grade data pipelines and LLM-based solutions across structured data, text, documents, and images. You will work with LangChain, OpenAI Agent SDK, Databricks, Mosaic AI, and RAG techniques, collaborating with clients to translate business needs into scalable technical outcomes.

Qualifications

• Production-level OOP for scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and generative AI.
• ML lifecycle: evaluation, monitoring, deployment.
• Robust data pipelines for document, OCR, and multi-modal data.
• Agentic frameworks integration with Databricks/Azure models.
• Ability to translate business needs to technical solutions and manage stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Actively contribute to the US Insurance roadmap and client delivery.
• Build and productionize data pipelines (structured, text, documents, images).
• Design, develop and deploy LLM-based solutions (RAG, embeddings, tuning).
• Experiment with LangChain/LangGraph and other agent frameworks to MVP autonomous solutions.
• Develop Chain-of-Thought and ReAct prompting strategies for liability justification.
• Create custom tools to query internal data and external APIs.
• Establish evaluation frameworks to ensure unbiased, explainable decisions.
• Ensure responsible-AI practices: privacy, mitigation of hallucinations, compliance.
• Lead client workshops and gather feedback to shape roadmap priorities.
