Job summary

Convergent Research is seeking a leader to design and own a growing portfolio of Focused Research Organizations and scientific projects advancing AI resilience. You will identify bottlenecks, recruit founders, and steer initiatives that strengthen society's capacity to benefit from AI while mitigating risks.

You will raise funds, coach founders, build boards, and collaborate with philanthropic funders and external advisors to accelerate mission-driven innovation at the frontier of AI safety.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the AI landscape and resilience.
• Proven fundraising ability and stakeholder management.
• Experience with boards and nonprofit leadership.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and own a growing portfolio of FROs and AI resilience projects.
• Identify bottlenecks, recruit founders, and advise on roadmaps.
• Raise funds and manage relationships with philanthropists and funders.
• Serve as a Director on multiple FRO boards and guide governance decisions.
• Represent Convergent externally and build trusted partnerships.
