Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an AI Research Scientist – Scientific Evaluation (ML/AI) based in the United States for a fully remote, freelance role. You will evaluate AI-generated research proposals and papers, focusing on novelty, methodological rigor, and reproducibility, with guidance to align with top-tier conference standards.

You will work independently under structured rubrics, produce detailed, evidence-based feedback, and support decisions on research contributions to frontier AI systems.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent demonstrated research expertise.
• 3+ peer-reviewed publications at NeurIPS/ICML/ICLR (mandatory).
• Experience reviewing papers for leading ML/AI conferences or journals preferred.
• Strong ML/AI research experience with novel methods and experiments.
• Excellent analytical and scientific writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated ML/AI papers for contributions and validity.
• Assess novelty against state-of-the-art methods.
• Examine experimental design and statistical evidence.
• Identify methodological flaws and unsupported claims.
• Verify reproducibility and review code when available.
• Provide structured, evidence-based evaluations with justifications.
