Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to accelerate AI-powered solutions in healthcare revenue management. You will bridge research and production, building scalable AI systems and collaborating with researchers, engineers, and domain experts to deliver impactful models at scale.

You will design end-to-end AI/ML infrastructure, tackle complex business problems, and drive measurable outcomes. This hybrid role combines research rigor with practical deployment to improve reimbursement

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building, and deploying production AI/ML systems.
• Experience building and scaling 0→1 AI products from prototype to production.
• Experience with model evaluation, benchmarking, experiment tracking, validation methodologies, and ML lifecycle management.
• Experience developing large-scale AI applications involving retrieval systems, ranking models, generative AI, or other advanced ML technologies.
• Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and translate complex business problems into scalable AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable AI systems for retrieval, ranking, categorization, and generative AI over large-scale healthcare data.
• Build and operate AI/ML systems end-to-end from problem framing to deployment.
• Define AI abstractions and architectures that are scalable, explainable, and maintainable.
• Design ranking and triage models that route work between AI agents and humans.
• Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, clinicians, and operators to deliver measurable business value.
