Job summary

SpaceXSI offers a remote role focusing on high-quality data annotations and inputs in applied mathematics. You will evaluate model outputs, identify numerical issues, and provide rigorous solutions across probability, statistics, numerical analysis, and related fields.

The position requires strong mathematical writing and the ability to articulate complex arguments clearly. Depending on needs, it may involve collaborations with teams to improve annotation tools and workflows.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in mathematics, with a specialization in an applied mathematics subfield; or
• A medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or a comparable high-level mathematics competition.
• English proficiency at CEFR C1 level or higher.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate model outputs, independently verify mathematical solutions, identify subtle errors in reasoning, modelling, or numerical computations, and produce clear, rigorous, and technically sound solutions and explanations.
• Use proprietary software applications to annotate and label data for designated projects.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and well-curated datasets that meet project standards.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and train new tasks, contributing to the successful development and implementation of innovative technologies and initiatives.
• Work closely with technical staff to improve the design, functionality, and efficiency of annotation tools and workflows.
• Solve problems across applied mathematics domains aligned with your expertise, including probability, statistics, numerical analysis, optimization, operations research, dynamical systems, data modeling, and related fields. Develop detailed solutions and critically evaluate AI-generated responses.
• Interpret, analyze, and execute tasks accurately in accordance with established guidelines and project requirements.
