Job summary

JUPUS is seeking a driven AI Lead to own AI across one of the fastest-growing legal tech companies in Europe, leading development and evolution of core AI products. This role blends hands-on production work with strategic leadership, roadmap definition, and establishing AI best practices.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will build systems, guide the AI team, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver reliable AI features while improving infrastructure,

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience building and shipping applied AI systems in production.
• Hands-on AI system experience with agentic AI or RAG in production.
• Strong Python and backend development for AI-driven products.
• Experience leading AI engineers and setting technical direction.
• Track record delivering AI features end-to-end.
• Experience with AI evaluation and observability tools.
• Ability to balance hands-on work with leadership.
• Fluent in English.
• Located in CET -2/+2 time zone.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the AI roadmap across all AI products.
• Lead and grow the AI team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Architect and implement production-ready generative AI systems across voice, chat, and document workflows.
• Contribute hands-on (≈40%) to core AI systems, including architecture and optimization.
• Design and oversee agentic workflows, RAG systems, and LLM-based architectures.
• Establish and scale evaluation, testing, and observability frameworks for AI systems.
• Define and enforce best practices for AI development and deployment.
• Ensure reliable delivery and fast iteration within a small, high-impact team.
• Partner with product, design, and engineering to integrate AI into workflows.
• Translate AI capabilities into real product features.
