Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with clients to design, build, and deploy AI, data, cloud, and digital solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, leading architectures, solution envisioning, and delivery across cloud, AI, and enterprise integrations while working with cross-functional teams. Remote in the United States; visa-independent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, technical consulting, customer-facing engineering, or similar roles.
• Strong programming in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience building cloud-native solutions on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud with APIs, microservices, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture, enterprise integrations, and client-facing engagements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client stakeholders to understand objectives and translate them into scalable architectures and roadmaps.
• Lead workshops and envisioning sessions to define solution architectures.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native apps, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Build AI/GenAI/RAG solutions including AI copilots and autonomous agents.
• Own technical delivery across client initiatives and drive production readiness and adoption.
