Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking an AI Engineer to work remotely on a contract basis, developing LLM-powered features and RAG pipelines with a focus on scalable backend services and frontend integrations. You will collaborate with solution architects and product teams to deliver production-ready AI capabilities.

The role requires 3+ years of software engineering, experience with .NET/Java, Python, Azure, REST APIs, and modern frontend tech such as React or TypeScript. W2 benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend experience in .NET or Java with Python familiarity.
• Experience delivering LLM-powered features (RAG, tool calling, prompts).

Responsibilities

• Build and ship LLM-powered features including RAG pipelines, tool-calling agents, multi-step workflows, and prompt frameworks.
• Integrate solutions with the AI middleware platform and contribute reusable capabilities.
• Implement evaluation and testing for AI outputs with test sets and quality gates.
• Develop APIs, backend services, integrations, and UI components for AI features.
• Add observability, logging, and cost tracking to deployed AI systems and remediate issues.
• Pair with solution team engineers to enable independent execution of AI feature development.
• Document designs, decisions, and lessons for future teams.
