Job summary

Ampstek is hiring an AI Engineer (German speaker) for remote EU-based work. You will design, build, and ship production-grade LLM applications—from RAG pipelines to AI assistants—deployed on Azure. Work with Claude Code and Cursor in a fast-paced AI-first team, maintaining solid coding fundamentals.

You will deploy services on Azure, write production-grade Python, and explain modelling decisions to non-technical stakeholders. Fluent German and English are required, along with EU citizenship.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years shipping ML/AI systems
• Hands-on LLM application deployment with major model provider or open-source models
• Practical RAG and embeddings experience with a production vector store
• Proficiency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor
• Python with PyTorch/TF, pandas, NumPy
• Fluent German and English
• EU citizenship
• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/ML/Data Science/Math/Statistics or equivalent experience
• Bonus: Azure services and Docker; remote, distributed teams experience

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy LLM-based applications using Claude, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI or open-source models
• Design and implement RAG pipelines (embeddings, chunking, retrieval, vector stores)
• Write clean, production-grade Python
• Deploy services on Azure with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
• Explain modelling decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
