Job summary

micro1 is seeking an AI Engineer for a remote contractor role (~15 hours per week). You will help train next-generation AI systems by creating Reinforcement Learning Environments that assess model learning, reasoning, and problem solving using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools.

Prior AI experience is not required; domain knowledge matters. You will design reproducible environments, deterministic verification, and golden reference solutions to accurately measure MCP tool usage and software

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more of C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization.
• Experience debugging complex software and delivering maintainable solutions.
• Background in feature development and codebase refactoring.
• Ability to optimize software for performance and scalability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, detail-oriented.
• Experience collaborating in remote, cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Fix bugs, implement features, refactor code, and optimize performance.
