Qualifications

• 5+ years of medical coding experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS, and Official Coding Guidelines.
• Proficiency with coding software such as 3M, Nuance, Optum360, and TruCode.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee professional fee and facility inpatient coding operations for accuracy and compliance.
• Evaluate AI-generated coding assignments for accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct coding quality audits and provide feedback to staff and AI systems.
• Monitor KPIs like productivity, accuracy, unbilled accounts, and denials due to coding errors.
• Manage coding workflows, queues, distribution, and turnaround times.
• Ensure adherence to Official Coding Guidelines, CMS regs, and payer rules.
• Provide ongoing coding education and compliance training.
• Collaborate with CDI, billing, and compliance to address revenue integrity issues.
• Annotate AI outputs and give structured feedback for AI training datasets.
