Job summary

AE Studio is seeking an applied data scientist to work across client projects, internal product initiatives, and exploratory research. The role blends practical ML delivery with experimentation and research into advanced AI systems, requiring both technical depth and creativity to turn ambiguous problems into useful products.

You will build data-driven solutions, develop and evaluate LLM-based systems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teammates to communicate findings clearly.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python with real-user impact experience.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Strong background in statistical or causal ML and experimental design.
• Experience training NLP or computer-vision models with PyTorch/TF/JAX.
• Ability to work independently in iterative Kanban or Scrum.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.

Responsibilities

• Build data-driven solutions addressing real-world product and client needs.
• Develop and evaluate systems involving large language models, including retrieval, prompting, multimodality, fine-tuning, and evaluation.
• Apply statistical or causal reasoning to experimental design and model assessment.
• Train or adapt NLP/vision models for practical applications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate findings clearly.
• Propose high-impact research ideas that may become new ventures or products.
