Job summary

Blu Omega LLC is seeking an AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, AI solutions, and analytics platforms within a federal environment. The role supports the CDC NCEH program and involves cloud-based deployments and DevOps practices.

Primary responsibilities include building ETL processes, deploying on Azure with Docker/Kubernetes, and collaborating with DBAs and developers to ensure data quality and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five years of experience in data engineering, software development, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience with AI solutions, including prompt engineering, machine learning, agentic AI, and RAG concepts.
• Experience with Java, Python, SQL, and PySpark, and API development (RESTful & SOAP).
• Extensive experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB.
• Proven data pipeline and ETL development.
• Experience with Databricks and cloud deployment.
• Familiarity with GitHub CI/CD tools.
• Experience working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes from diverse sources.
• Build data architectures and models to support analytics and reporting.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using GitHub and related tools.
• Develop and deploy cloud-based AI/ML solutions on Azure with containers.
• Collaborate with DBAs and developers to design data models and APIs.
• Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and logging.
• Troubleshoot production issues to maintain high availability.
• Document data flows and technical solutions for compliance.
• Stay updated with emerging data, cloud, and DevOps practices.
