Job summary

Simple Technology Solutions is seeking an AI Application Engineer to build AI-driven software for federal clients. You will develop agents, retrieval pipelines, APIs, and user interfaces, working test-first from requirements and using Claude Code and STS’s shared agents.

Remote with travel to client sites, US citizenship and public trust clearance required. The role emphasizes building on AWS Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and S3; strong Python/TypeScript skills and experience with

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of professional software development experience, including web or cloud apps.
Experience with test-driven development and CI on a team, and shipping to AWS.
Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic coding tools.
Strong proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with APIs and web front-ends.
Knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation design, vector stores, embeddings, prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

Build and ship generative AI application features (retrieval-augmented generation, tool-using agents, prompt pipelines).
Develop test-driven development practices; write unit/integration tests before PRs.
Contribute to OpenCORA module architecture when used by the project.
Leverage AWS-native services (Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3) when required.
Use Claude Code and shared agents/skills; improve them for the team.
Maintain a clean audit trail from requirements to Jira cards to GitHub PRs.
