Placements24 is seeking an Agricultural Data Analyst to join our remote team. You will collect, clean, and analyze large agricultural datasets, deriving insights to improve crop yields and farm efficiency.

This role involves building predictive models, creating dashboards, and communicating results to diverse stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data science and agriculture, proficiency in Python or R, and experience with SQL and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Agricultural Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within the agricultural sector.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with SQL databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
• Knowledge of agricultural practices, crop science, or soil science is a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex findings clearly.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, independent setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process, and clean large agricultural datasets from various sources (sensors, field records, satellite imagery, weather stations).
• Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, correlations, and insights related to crop performance, resource utilization, and environmental factors.
• Develop and maintain data models and algorithms for predictive analytics (e.g., yield forecasting, disease prediction).
• Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with agronomy and operations teams to define data requirements and address specific analytical challenges.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in data collection, management, and analysis.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in data analytics and agricultural science.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all projects.
• Prepare regular reports summarizing key performance indicators and actionable recommendations.
