Job summary

ISHE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with aerospace experience focused on sensor systems. You will design, model, test, and analyze integrated mechanical, software, and networking aspects in a remote, self-organizing team.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in mechanical engineering for integrated systems and proficiency in SolidWorks and MATLAB, with C++/C# a plus. You will engage across programs and support business development activities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in integrated systems.
• Aerospace experience with unmanned or manned aircraft systems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and MATLAB; C++/C# a plus; cloud-based familiarity.
• Strong communication; able to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design support for aerospace sensor systems and related tech.
• Develop CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support ground, bench, and flight testing of systems.
• Perform feasibility studies and trade-space analyses.
• Reduce and analyze test data; present findings to diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with software and data engineers on integrated systems.
• Contribute to networked data systems (servers, cloud, devices).
• Prepare white papers, technical reports, and customer docs.
• Participate in business development, including proposals and pipelines.
• Travel as needed for testing, integration, or customer engagements.
