Job summary

SAIC is hiring a Category Manager within Aerospace & Defense to lead strategic sourcing and category-management activities across the supply chain. This remote position within the United States partners with stakeholders to develop category strategies, execute sourcing events, and manage supplier relationships.

The role requires a Bachelor’s plus 15+ years in procurement or category-management; a Master’s degree is preferred. Up to 50% travel to Reston, VA and other locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years related experience.
• Eight+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply-chain, or category-management experience.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint or similar government-contracting ERP platform.
• Strong project-management and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead RFI, RFQ, RFP and other competitive sourcing processes from planning through supplier selection and award.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, service levels, risk allocations, and performance commitments with suppliers.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, scorecards, and supplier development plans.
• Monitor supplier capacity, quality, delivery, financial health, and regulatory compliance.
