Job summary

BCBST BlueBridge Internship Program seeks an Intern for the Actuarial Team to gain hands‑on experience in research, assumptions, and experience analyses for health insurance products. You will work with staff actuaries to validate premiums, reserves, and financial statement completeness.

Preferred majors include Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance, or Statistics; must reside in ET/CT zones and be able to work 20–40 hours weekly during 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. ET.

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize, work independently and manage time/resources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support research to develop assumptions and conduct experience analyses for health insurance products.
• Ensure accuracy of premiums for health products.
• Assess appropriateness of reserve estimates and completeness of financial statements.
