Job summary

Avalon Healthcare Solutions is seeking an Actuarial Coordinator Internship to support the Corporate Actuarial Department with savings monitoring, data analysis, PMPM spend reviews, and IBNR calculations. The role is ideal for a college student pursuing an actuarial degree or someone returning to the workforce.

Expected ~25–28 hours per week, with remote work eligibility and quarterly travel to our Tampa, Florida corporate office. Reports to the Senior Vice President, Actuarial.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports monthly savings tracking for Health Plans.
• Reviews claims data and analyzes PMPM spend and savings.
• Responds to actuarial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepares IBNR data and communicates impact to revenue.
• Assists with data reconciliations and researches outstanding items.
• Supports financial reporting requests with documentation.
• Keeps actuarial records organized per procedures.
• Inputs and validates actuarial data with high accuracy.
• Provides general administrative support to the Actuarial Department.
• Collaborates with team on daily actuarial operations and projects.
