Ideal candidates possess 25 years of full-time actuarial work, 10 years in commercial lines pricing, and a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, economics, statistics, or related fields.

Qualifications

• 25 years of full-time work experience in insurance is required.
• 10 most recent years in actuarial pricing for commercial lines.
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, statistics or related major.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pricing studies to evaluate profitability and perform competitor analysis.
• Lead state and product rate reviews and filings by interpreting bureau rate changes.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Product Management, Sales, Finance to revise and expand offerings.
• Assess experience, source of earnings, reserve adequacy, and forward-looking drivers.
• Develop rating methodologies for existing and new products.
• Extract/manipulate data in relational databases; utilize SAS/SQL/VBA/R/Python as needed.
• Apply statistical techniques to build predictive models addressing underwriting or claim issues.
