Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated Server Administrator to advance our Active Directory and Windows Server environment. You will manage AD, GPO, and PowerShell automation at an enterprise scale in a remote-friendly role.

Requirements include 5+ years in AD, GPO, PowerShell, CIS benchmarks, and Windows Server lifecycle management. This full-time remote position reports to the Server Operations Team Manager and uses Azure DevOps for tracking work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Active Directory: domain services, replication, delegation, permissions, and domain controller troubleshooting.
• 5+ years of experience with Group Policy: design, scoping, filtering, troubleshooting, and change control in large environments.
• 5+ years of experience with PowerShell: modules, error handling, remote execution, scheduled/unattended scripts, and AD/GPO automation.
• 3+ years of experience implementing CIS benchmarks on Windows endpoints via GPO and scripting.
• 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration and lifecycle management, including build, patching, upgrading, and decommissioning.
• Experience documenting work in real-time, including SOPs, runbooks, and change records.

Responsibilities

• Execute Active Directory, Group Policy, and permissions work backlog, including GPO creation, modification, testing, retirement, delegation and access changes.
• Implement CIS baselines through GPO and scripted remediation based on guidance from the Senior Server Administrator.
• Design, write, and maintain PowerShell scripts for administration, automation, auditing, remediation, and reporting.
• Identify repetitive tasks and develop automation to replace manual procedures with tested scripts.
• Manage the Windows Server lifecycle at enterprise scale including build, configuration, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, and decommissioning.
• Work on tasks prioritized by the Server Operations Team Manager and logged in Azure DevOps.
• Process service requests and change controls through the Service Management tool per team process.
• Store all work products in Azure DevOps, including scripts, GPO docs, runbooks, and SOPs.
• Cross-skill with the Senior Server Administrator to share AD/GPO and CIS knowledge.
• Adapt to additional on-premises duties as directed by the Manager.
